Burnham Teaching Partnership

Tailoring teacher training for you

HOW TO BECOME A TRAINEE WITH THE BURNHAM TEACHING PARTNERSHIP

We work with the University of Reading and Middlesex University to provide our training. You will be able to find us on UCAS when you choose the provider you would like to complete your teacher training with. Simply look for us when you select Search for Courses or Programmes starting in 2017.

Before you apply, we would encourage you to have a 'school experience' day. On this day you will be able to sit in on lessons and day to day school life, as well as question teachers about the job you are on the road to entering. Please get in touch with us to arrange this.

Criteria for applying to become a teacher through the Burnham Teaching Partnership:

Strong academic background and expertise in your chosen subject

A 2:2(hons) degree or higher; A Levels in chosen or related subjects; GCSE maths and English at grade C or above; GCSE science if applying for a primary placement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Passionate about educating young people

Organisational skills and the ability to multi-task

Once you have applied, the partnership schools will select candidates to have in for interviews. During the interview, candidates will undertake a number of tasks including teaching a class, a written task, and face a student interview panel.
